RARITY RETURNS TO SWEDEN

This autumn I've had the opportunity to bring back a very special reel from the USA.
It is about the Record 2300 Vintage Special Order, a reel that was made in only a very short series in the 1950's. The reel is one of the few that was sent upon request to the USA for tournament casting.

The background was such that the Swedish casting competitors advancement with special versions of Record 2100 and 2300 had been hugely successful in international competition, and now the Americans wanted to compete with the dominating Swedes.

What sets these reels apart is the numbered brake dial adjustment and special spool with special line from Malmo Stocking factory with a diameter of 0.06 mm. The reel I have now has belonged to fishing enthusiast Bill Singleton from Tennessee.

He has used the reel often in tournaments, but it is in spite of this in very good condition. The accessory calibrated casting weights are engrained with competition sites such as Dixie, Memphis and Nashville from 1957 to 1967.

The Record 2300 is now a very fine artifact in my collection!

I would love a spool to fit mine!
