I
have been an enthusiastic photographer since the
60's , when I was just 13. I bought my first
camera viz a second hand Zeiss Ikon compact 35mm.
Since
then I have owned so many; Practica, Pentax K2, Many
Nikons with last traditional 35mm model,
being a Nikon FA. Then
with digital, a very early and the ever first
Casio, many Sonys and last model used was the Sony
DSC F801 (8 megapixel). I then stepped up to a Nikon Digital SLR. It is a D 90. I saw no reason to upgrade this wonderful camera until it was 14 years old and then only as a spare body. I know use
the waterproof metal frame Nikon 7200 It is kitted out with different lens,35mm 1.8, 18-55mm, 55- 300mm, 18-105 mm, ring flash and Nikon SB-700 TTL flash, desktop light box and various tripods. As an extra
indulgence I have recently bought a GoPro 3 Black
edition My
most recent holiday saw me spent 11 days on the
Ponant expeditionary cruise where I took over 2000
images. |
I have fished for 45 years+ and never tire of the greatest hobby of all.
It is nice to try to record some of these memories, but I never let cameras get in the way of fishing.
Many of my photos appear throughout this website, some very average whilst others I am very proud of.
Perhaps snapshots is a better term to use as these images are grabbed quickly whilst fishing.
My family journeys have seen me (and my camera) fish in the Republic of Ireland, Papua and New Guinea, Lorde Howe Island, Norfolk Island Snowy Mountains and the USA.
I have friends now (due to my ABU collection) from all over the world. Some who have visited and fished with me want me to call on them in the future to try the fishing in their areas. Sweden is my first choice and I hope to renew some fishing friendships in coming years.
From my boat, catching a billfish, wahoo and Dolphin Fish would be my main goals here in our waters.
Going further south , on a charter boat, I hope to catch a Pearl Perch and a Snapper one day.
In northern climes I would love to catch a Salmon
(Salmo Salar), Seatrout, Grayling and an Arctic Char.
I have quite a collection of older cameras that I would gladly trade for ABU fishing reels now.
