Career Highlights 1973-2008
A work in progress when info located.....
Over almost 40 years I have seen much change from a time of spoon-feeding specific and controlled programs through to a relaxation and allowing teacher more professional input and control within guidelines to now where the politically-driven National Curriculum is now being implemented.
You be the judge whether we are going forward.....
Several standout events over this time stick in my mind.
Going bush, some 120 km north of Rockhampton, for 2 years to a 36 student Ogmore State School where one sank or survived.
My discovering computers in 1981 pre the PC
Winning "Classroom Computing's" Australasia-wide graphic/text programming competition.
Staying in 2 main schools, Glenmore and Frenchville for very long time periods, helping to contribute to the ethos of the school.
Notable Principals of the time were Mr John Peach and Mr Alan Knox.
Being recognized for my innovations upon retirement.
Past pupils who still contact me and talk favourably of my impact on their lives.
The satisfaction produced by Supply teaching where I merely teach without planning/evaluation and consideration of the current political imperatives of the day.
